Editorial Guidelines

Wallet-security content is easy to get subtly wrong — either by overstating how safe cold storage is, or by quietly promoting a specific product under the guise of neutral advice. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Sourcing

  • Mechanism claims (how secure-element chips work, how seed phrases function) are backed by documented, publicly available information and cited industry sources, linked inline where relevant.
  • We do not invent statistics, reviews, or business credentials.

No brand ranking

We do not name a specific hardware wallet brand as “the best” or “most secure” anywhere on this site. We have no independent testing program or verified basis for such a ranking, and vendor-published rankings have an obvious conflict of interest — so we describe mechanisms generically instead of picking a winner.

No guaranteed-safety framing

We do not use language implying any storage method is risk-free or “unhackable.” Cold storage meaningfully reduces remote-attack risk but introduces its own physical and procedural risks, and our content reflects that consistently.
